Chopsuey - Healthy Chicken Chopsuey Recipe

Chopsuey is of Chinese in origin consisting of meats such as chicken, pork, shrimps and beef and cooked quickly with fresh vegetables. But this easy recipe and good food dish is now prominent in Chinese-American and Filipino cuisine. Ana cooked this good food recipe when we were in Tagaytay. Chicken Chopsuey is best served with rice. Although, it may also be served as chow mien with the addition of stir-fry noodles. Other meats may also be added on it to make it more flavorful. Simple and easy to prepare.

Serves 5  Prep Time 30 minutes  Cooking Time 20 minutes


1/4 kilo chicken breast, deboned and cut into strips
1/2 head of garlic, minced
1 pc onion, diced
1 pc carrot, cut into strips
1 small cabbage, cut into small pieces
1 small pechay baguio, cut into small pieces
1 cup snow peas (chicharo)
1 cup green bean, sliced (about 2 inch long)
1 small cauliflower, cut into small pieces
2 tsp cornstarch, diluted in 1/4 cup water
1 cup water
1 chicken broth cube
Salt and pepper

How To Cook

Saute garlic and onion for few minutes in a pot.

Add the deboned chicken strips and saute for about 2 minutes.

Add water and chicken broth cube and bring to boil. Add some salt and pepper.

Put in cauliflower and cabbage and mix well.

Add the beans, carrots, snow peas and pechay baguio. Mix and cover and simmer for 5 minutes or until the vegetables are cooked.

Add cornstarch to thicken the sauce.

Served while hot.
