A simple French Toast recipe is basically a snack made of bread and egg. This food recipe is served as a sweet dish and may be topped with syrup, mayonnaise, fruits, sugar or any other items. This easy recipe for French Toast can be a good food alternative for pancakes. You can even use some leftover tasty bread on your pantry and make a good meal out of it. Serves 4-5 Prep Time 15 minutes Cooking Time 5 minutes
3 eggs (2 whole, 1 egg white)
1 cup milk
1/2 tspn cinnamon (optional)
2 tbps butter
6 slices white bread, cut diagonally or horizontally
Powdered sugar and maple syrup (optional)
How To Cook
Place the eggs into the mixing bowl and beat until the yolk and whites are mixed together. Add the milk and cinnamon and beat until well mixed.
Heat frying pan over medium heat. Melt a little butter in the pan.
Dip the bread into the egg mixture. Make sure both sides are soaked and wet. Using a fork, push the bread a bit allowing it to drip.
Place slice of bread in pan. Do the same with the other slices of bread.
Turn slices over when the bread is slightly brown.
Remove the cooked ones and transfer to a plate and keep warm.
Sprinkle with syrup or powdered sugar and serve warm.
