Preparation is everything when it comes to getting lean, and good organization in the kitchen is the key to burning fat and getting the body you’ve always wanted. Prepping doesn’t have to mean spending your whole weekend in the supermarket or in the kitchen.
Here are few tips that will help you to think outside of the box to prepare food like a master chef:
1) Block out preparation time
For many people, one of the biggest obstacles when it comes to their health and fitness is time. Try to leave work early and space out time for everything else including cooking. This way, you have enough prep time for breakfast, lunch and dinner without having to worry about anything else.
2) Make a plan
Plan out what you are going to eat during the week. This will help you stay on top of all your nutrition goals, but will also stop you from grabbing those unhealthy fast foods on the go.
Make a calendar for the week and note down what you’d like for breakfast, lunch and dinner; what you want to eat post-workout; and what kind of snacks you want to be munching on throughout the day. Stick to it, and prep your meals according to the plan.
3) Make the most out of the microwave
Say goodbye to boiling big batches of rice or potatoes and say hello to microwavable stuff that gets done in a flash. Microwaving certain foods is an efficient way of cutting down time in front of the stove, and contrary to popular belief it’s not bad for you.
4) Stock up
Make sure your cupboards are well stocked up with the right foods including a selection of lean meat, milk, eggs, and even a little bit of wine.
5) Avoid those ice-cream treats
If your friends are planning on going out to an ice-cream parlor, invite them home instead and make some healthy smoothies. If nothing else, you could just stay home and play some bingo on GameVillage or any other online bingo site.
